This week was my friend, Sandi's birthday, so we celebrated at the Carlyle in Shirlington. The Carlyle (and all the Great American Restaurants) are always tried and true good. The food is consistently delicious, and the service is terrific. It seems that I go there on occasion for many of my friends' birthdays. It's a great place to celebrate. At the end, they made a wonderful presentation with a delish dessert surrounded with a big "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate on the plate. Yummy lemon meringue pie--it was a happy day.
